How to do the Standing Side Leg Raise with Chair
- Stand beside a sturdy chair and hold the backrest with one hand.
- Shift your weight onto the leg nearest the chair and stand tall.
- Slowly lift your outer leg out to the side, keeping your toes pointing forward.
- Lower the leg with control, repeat, then turn around and switch sides.
Tips
- Keep your upper body upright rather than leaning away from the lifting leg.
Adjustments
- Make the lift smaller if your hips feel tight or your balance feels unsteady.
