How to do the Standing Hamstring Stretch with Chair
- Stand facing a sturdy chair, about a step away, with your feet hip-width apart.
- Step one foot slightly forward and rest the heel on the floor with your toes lifted.
- Place your hands on the backrest or seat and hinge forward from your hips with a long back.
- Hold for a few breaths, then return to standing and switch sides.
Tips
- Lead with your chest and keep your back flat rather than rounding down.
Adjustments
- Bend the front knee slightly or hold a higher part of the chair if the stretch feels strong.
